The Unseen Nurse

Why then do I love it so much? Am I crazy? OK, maybe a little...it's kind of prerequisite for working in an OR. Exhaustion becomes a way of life. You learn to eat when you can, drink when you can, sleep when you can and go to the bathroom when the opportunity arises.
You get stuck in a little room with 3-5 other strong personalities for hours on end. If you are the circulating nurse, you will need to orchestrate the actions into a cohesive whole. If you are the scrub nurse, you are on the front line any time something is missing or wrong.

Every second counts. You must be extremely efficient and be able to prioritize wisely. What needs to be done immediately, what needs to be done soon, and what can wait a minute. When to stop everything and when to hurry it along. How to do three things at once, and do them correctly. Decisions...Priorities...Multi-tasking, these are your challenges every moment.

Thinking outside the box is a skill of the experienced OR nurse.  You need to think of new ways to use old things constantly.  Every person is different inside, literally!  No two operations are the same.  Sometimes what you usually use, doesn't work...creativity is a must!
You need to love a challenge, have high energy, be able to think on your feet and hit the ground running.  Doctors yell at you every time something is missing or something goes wrong.  You are the unseen nurse.  No-one remembers your care, because they were asleep for it.

You need to have a very strong ego, everything will be your fault the instant it happens.  Later, you may get an apology...but in the instant you just let them rant.  I was taught that one of the ways I perform my job as patient advocate is to let them yell.  It was explained to me this way...better they yell at me, than their hands shake in the wound.  Much better!  Let them get it out!
However, it is also the only place in nursing that has such instant gratification!  Some-one's gallbladder is making them sick, take it out...there, they are cured.  The baby will die if it is not delivered now, take it out...there, the baby lives.
Although the docs yell a lot, they learn to depend on you and respect you more than if you were a floor nurse.  They perceive you as being smarter, more reliable.
You are challenged every day.  You learn something every day.  It is an ever changing, never static or dull, environment.  You have to BE there mentally and physically 100% at all times.  As I say, not for everyone, but I seem to thrive on it.

"Desert outfit posts?"

I've heard so many things about my friends who try to apply working in abroad specially in the middle east as a Registered Nurse and I'm frustrated and feel pressured about it.
My mom and Sister were also a nurse, I guess it runs to our blood.I can say Saudi Arabia and she wants us to come with her and stay there for work.

BUT the first thing comes to my mind, in Saudi can I wear want I want to wear??Will I still posts blogs?? An outfit post in the Desert?? Yay! In Saudi there's no PORK!hahahah.kidding aside. I can't imagine myself wearing those cover ups, a large, black cloak, worn either loose and flowing or wrapped around the body. Saddest part I can't show my flesh in there. hihihi.

But at the back of my mind, in Saudi, I can work and save money to buy all my PLEASURES. And here’s the good news, Mom said there's a lot of thrift shop that awaits me there. hahaha.

Today, i will try to focus on my job.Im thankful to feel free in doing things i love.Somehow i can manage myself in getting what i want.I know God has better plans for me, I'll wait, patiently wait for it.

Anyway, coz’ we’re talking about job, here’s a classy Thrifted semi formal or corporate attire. Is’nt pretty for an interview? Ola Amigaz! Till the next post..

A Sweet Giveaway

I’m very grateful and deeply sensible for the things a had won, that for me it is not exactly entering a contest on internet but just a way of expressing my opinion towards dating. The question goes like this “Describe your most romantic date outfit.”

and my answer “I’d probably get all nervous to meet the guy, so I would want to be comfortable and yet show a bit of who I am. I will going to wear a dress makes me feel pretty without showing too much skin. And a shoes that will make my legs look good and are comfortable to walk in because it’s always good to wear comfy shoes just in case he takes me on a wild adventure.”

Then not expecting to win, I got a mail, then when I opened it UKAY MANILA STORE ‘you had everyone falling in love with your winning answer, Here’s hoping you won’t feel so nervous wearing the beautiful bohemian dress you won! Congrats, Sittie!’

My gratitude to UKAY MANILA STORE for this gorgeous dress and to Ms. Denisse Lozada for my fictitious H&M earrings from Hongkong. As I take pictures wearing this very comfortable dress and earrings makes me feel simply happy thingking I am blessed. Thanks a lot.

FACT: You can't spell "S-M-I-L-E" without "I".

The secret to a healthy life is to be happy. And to be happy, we have to make happiness our ultimate goal at all times. Though there are some people who argue against this, I think that being happy in life makes life look much rosier.
To be happy in life, we have to use dedication, concentration and regular injection of inspiration to make our actions happy. There are many people in the world giving out negative vibes, who don’t believe in being happy. In addition to this, there are also many things and places that tend to drain your body of energy and in the process, make you feel unhappy.
Keeping all this in mind, I have done some research recently on the secrets of joyful and cheerful people. And the results are these ten characteristics that make a happy person.
1.Happy people always have happy friends. Remember the old proverb, birds of a feather flock together. Those having a positive and happy outlook to life understand and prefer the company of others with the same outlook to life.
2. Happy people usually know how to speak for themselves about what they feel and if they are not treated well. In addition to this, happy people tend to lead a life of integrity, are honest and sincere with others and themselves and always live according to their values.
3. Happy people love, and enjoy listening to music. Remember that music always makes the world go round, especially for happy people.
4. Happy people appreciate what they have and recognize the blessings that come their way. They know how to show appreciation and gratitude constantly.
5. As happy people receive and share lots of love, compassion and affection, they enjoy life better. And in the process, find that they can sleep better.
6. Happy people not only know how to eat well, they also know how to feed their body with great quality food. In addition to this, they also follow a regular exercise routine. This is because they believe in self care and work at reaching the epitome of mental and physical strength.
7. Happy people are both patient with people and things around them, and excitedly look forward to life everyday. They are always ready and welcome the adventures life offers them.
8. Happy people look for the best in themselves and in people around them as they are naturally optimistic. They know how to alter negative positions into positive ones.
9. Happy people know their purpose in life and live to their passions. It is because of this that they arealways learning new things, and are open to new and fresh ideas.

10. Happy people are always ready to forgive themselves, and don’t beat themselves up for unavoidable mistakes. Being spiritual, they believe in the power of praying, and consider everything is possible and attainable through constant prayer

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Can you imagine my effort just for blogging??

Ok where do I have to start?
In this photos you can see my effort  just to blog. It’s ok if you started to laugh right now. LOL.

After a long night of mixed and matching of outfit, my room is a mess. Believed me.  And after that, I have to call my 'bff teesai' just to ask for a favor ‘to be my photographer of the day’ hihihi

I don’t have a car so I need to carry all my stuff and find a perfect place for photo shoot.

And oopss bad hair day? ‘OR cap’ to the rescue..  hahaha while eating breakfast at  Mcdonals, I don’t care if what others may say. I heard someone says ‘bakit siya nakasuot ng ganun?’ (why she was wearing a cap?) CRAZY ayt? hahaha anyway, It's my cap, I'm an OR Nurse. Hahahaha

Finally, retouched, changed of outfit, wear the heels.

EFFORTLESS?? Hahahaha.. But anyway here’s the result. Hope you will like it. BOW!

Photo credits to my bff teesai. Thank you so much girl for the effort. muahugs!  See more of this photos SOON .. goodnight everyone =))
